Everybody thinks that to start a podcast, you need money. However, that is certainly not the case. At the beginning of my podcasting career, I didn't spend a dime. As time moved along whoever, I spend some money on a better mic, but that optional, you can still just use the mic on your computer. There are lots of programs out there that help you make a professional podcast, but after a while, a lot of them end up demanding money. The website that I used, which was completely free, was a program called Anchor. Anchor never asks for any money, besides if you do sponsors, but I'll talk about that in a minute. On Anchor, all you have to do is make a podcast, and then it does the rest. It sends it out to other platforms, like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. However, this doesn't come without a price. On Anchor, it sends you sponsors that are interested in sponsoring you for money. Whenever you get a sponsor though, it takes 30% of all of the profits. On a different subject, while I'm writing this, Spotify just bought out Anchor. Nothing had changed yet, but if this information is inaccurate, sorry. Anyways, when you get further and further into your podcast, you'll probably want to buy equipment like mics and headphones. This is, of course, optional, but I'd recommend it. That's all you need to start a podcast!
